Privacy: what happens to your data

Short version: Soundmovr does not collect, store or share your data. It is a web page that runs in your browser and talks to Spotify directly. There is no Soundmovr server that your library or login passes through.

What happens when you use it

What is kept, and where

WhatWhereHow long
Your Spotify app's Client IDYour browser (local storage)Until you change it or clear the site's data
Spotify's access keys for the two accountsThis browser tab (session storage)Until you close the tab
The list of your library read for the moveThis browser tab (session storage)Until you close the tab

None of it is sent to Soundmovr or anyone else. There are no cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels, no ads and no third-party scripts.

Hosting

The page itself is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver the page and protect it from attacks. Soundmovr does not see or use those records.

Links to other sites

Spotify's pages (login, developer dashboard) and Ko-fi (if you choose to leave a tip) have their own privacy rules. Soundmovr only links to them.

Removing every trace

  1. Close the Soundmovr tab: the access keys are gone.
  2. To forget the Client ID too, clear this site's data in your browser settings.
  3. To revoke the access you gave on Spotify's side, open spotify.com/account/apps and remove your app.
  4. You can delete your Spotify developer app in the Developer Dashboard whenever you like.
